To assure your child the best educational climate this year, we will be using a Clip Chart and Behavior Folder Plan as our classroom management program.
The clip chart to the left is displayed in our classroom. Each child begins the day with his/her clip on the green “Ready to Learn” poster. Throughout the day, clips may be moved up or down to reflect good or not-so-good behavior choices. Each student has a red "behavior folder" in his or her desk. If a clip is moved to "check in folder" it means a rule continues to be broken and will be recorded with a check in the folder. This is a way to track concerns that may need to be addressed via parent contact. If a student receives 5 checks in one month, the page will be sent home for a parent signature. Ready to Learn: Student starts the day. Average behavior day. Good Day: Student clips up for making good choices. Great Job: Student clips up twice for exceptional behavior and choices. Outstanding: Student shows outstanding role-model behavior. Think About It: Student clips down (warning). Check in Folder: Behavior is recorded in student’s red folder. Consequence. Parent Contact: Behavior warrants parent contact, office referral, or both. Classroom Rules: 1. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. 2. Raise your hand for permission to speak. 3. Remain seated unless told otherwise. 4. Listen for directions with no talking for noise. 5. Be polite to classmates and adults. The behavior plan and classroom rules have been discussed in class. Please review the plan with your child to show that we are all working together to make this the best year possible for your little one. Thank you! |
